Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 1, 2026

The short version: your documents are never uploaded to this site, because there is nothing to upload them to. The rest of this page explains the few pieces of data we do touch — cookies for advertising, and ordinary server logs.

1. Your documents

Every PDF, image, Word file and piece of text you open in one of these tools is processed by JavaScript running inside your own browser. The file is read through the browser's local file API and never transmitted to this website or to any third party. We have no server-side endpoint capable of receiving a document, no storage bucket, and no copy of your file. Closing the tab discards the working data.

2. Information we do collect

Like almost every website, our web server records standard access logs: the IP address making the request, the page requested, the time, the referring page and the browser's user-agent string. These logs are used for security, abuse prevention and aggregate traffic measurement, and they are retained for a limited period before being rotated out. They are not linked to any document you process, because we never receive one.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

This site uses cookies. A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser and can read back later. We use them for two purposes: remembering your language preference, and supporting the advertising described in the next section. You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings; the tools themselves will continue to work, because none of them depend on a cookie.

4. Advertising and Google AdSense

This site displays advertising in order to stay free. Advertising is served by third-party vendors, including Google. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet. Google uses the DoubleClick DART cookie for this purpose. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info. Where required by law, a consent notice is shown before any non-essential cookie is set, and you can change that choice at any time.

5. Analytics

If analytics are enabled on this site they are used only in aggregate — which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from — so that we can tell which tools are worth maintaining. Analytics data is never combined with the contents of a document, and no analytics tool on this site has access to the files you open.

6. Third-party links

Some pages link to external resources such as library documentation or the author's own writing. Once you follow such a link you are on someone else's site and subject to their privacy policy, not ours.

7. Children's privacy

This site is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please write to the address below and it will be removed.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of personal data held about you, and to object to processing or request data portability. Because we hold almost no personal data — no accounts, no uploaded files — most such requests concern advertising identifiers, which are controlled by the advertising vendor rather than by us. Write to us and we will help you route the request correctly.

9. Data retention

Server access logs are retained for a limited period for security purposes and then discarded. Language preferences stored in your browser remain until you clear them. We hold no user database, because there are no user accounts.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be published on this page with a new "last updated" date. Material changes affecting how advertising or cookies work will be flagged on the home page.

11. Contact

Questions about this policy, or requests relating to your data, can be sent to the address below. Please include the URL you are asking about.
